 Also, an international sporting federation has to be recognized through the International Paralympic Committee to allow its sport to qualify as one of the paralympic sports, even though in this case, several Paralympic Sports are controlled by a dedicated Committee of the International Paralympic Committee itself, according to the World Para branding, for example track and field athletics for disabled athletes is governed by the IPC itself, with the designation "World Para Athletics". Other Paralympic sport are also governed by the framework of the able-bodied equivalent to paralympic cycling. For instance, the UCI governs both able-bodied and paralympic cycling.
